Leaving on a JET plane...to Afghanistan...
To: You
The scariest moments in life are the moments you walk into knowing that when you walk out you'll be changed. Completely. They're hard because you have to accept that there is an absolute sense of the unknown. This coming week will be just such a moment. For me anyway.
I am flying to Afghanistan tonight- piano in hand- to bring a small piece of home to the hundreds of men and women who are in service to our amazing Country. To bring music to them is such a small thing that I as a singer/songwriter can offer.
Although I can't tell you much more than I already have- be assured in the fact that you will hear (and see in pics and video) all about my unbelievable experience when I return next week.
I am so honoured to have been invited by the Canadian Forces to offer even the smallest sense of home, and Canada, to our troops...
Oh Canada, We Stand On Guard For Thee!
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
All my love- Dreaming Hard.

Good Luck =)
Good luck in afghanistan! Stay safe =)
and i know that this is a bit off topic, but i went with my girl guide unit to see a canadian idol taping when you were on for the semi finals (it was the day Earl got voted off) and we were cheering for you =) (we were the cute grimsby girls in the back!)
so anyways, i heard that you're going to be at the Guiding Mosaic 2010 next week to be a guest judge for the talent show! i'm going to that camp and we'll make sure that we're there because every one in my unit who went that day are fans!
today my girl guide leader was saying that her mother went and saw you play at a restraunt in St. Catherines, Ontario and went up and talked to you and said about how her daughter's girl guides went to go see you at canadian idol and how we took the subway (which we didn't, we took a GO train actually) and my leader said that now you probably think we're a bunch of hicks. which we ARE NOT! Grimsby Girls are the most awesome people you'll ever meet!
but i can't wait to see you perform!!! oh and by the way, we're the 1st Grimsby Pathfiders! look for us! =)
Love ya,
Erin
P.S good luck in Afghanistan =)
Safe Travels
As you make your way across an ocean and into another part of our world, please know that you have many, many people thinking of you and praying for you. Yes, there is always that fear of the unknown but it can also be an opportunity to learn, grow and give.
Theo, when you get off the plane you will be looking into the eyes of our heroes. These men and women leave the comfort of their homes and the embrace of their loved ones so we can have the freedom to make choices. They will be looking into your eyes and yearning for some semblance of normalcy, a little gift from home. Your music and message will provide this for them.
This trip is a privilege and I know you will leave Afghanistan enlightened and intent on continuing this humanitarian role.
Embrace this opportunity. Travel safely.
You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Kathy
Amazing things
Will wonders never cease? I'd have to guess not, at least when it comes to you. This is an amazing thing you are doing, To travel there, and let your beautiful music be a wonderful respite for them from their daily life, to bring them a touch of home, and to offer a bit of your own heart to men and women who could use a bit of love, a bit of warmth, all are simply impressive. Whatever my own thoughts on war in general or this war in particular, you have to admire any soldier who leaves their home so they can defend and possibly even spread freedoms our countries share, that is something to be respected. That is what you do when you offer so freely of yourself. Stay safe, stay strong, and, for God's sake, keep dreaming. You must come back safe and soon, as I have a dream of seeing you playing live myself.

Wow!
Wow, Theo! That's amazing!
Just be sure to be safe. And make sure you come back to the Great White North - we'll all be waiting for your return.
Proud to be Canadian
I am so, so, so, proud of you for doing this, Theo. Being descendant from men who have been overseas (in both world wars) I cannot convey my gratitude enough for what you are doing. You are an inspiration to many here, and you will inspire those fighting overseas by giving them a small piece of home and a chance to get away from the hell raging outside, even if just for a couple of hours.
I wish you the absolute best during this endeavor and hope you bring the men and women fighting over there on our behalf a few moments of calm and happiness.
See you when you get back,
Love,
Jen
Godspeed, Theo!
Thank you so much for this, Theo! My dad was in the Canadian Armed Forces (Army) for 28 years, and I have always had a healthy respect and support for our troops. It must be hard being away from your home and your loved ones, especially in such circumstances. For you to bring them a little bit of home, a time for them to enjoy themselves, is something both you AND they will never forget.
This will indeed be a life-changing event for all of you. Just as you are bringing them hope and inspiration, they will do the same for you.
Please do me one small favour while you are there and let them know that many of your fans back home support and love them and wish them all a safe return. Canada is proud of them...and of you!

leaving on a jet plane
wishing you an experience of a lifetime. our troops are very fortunate to have you do this for them. this is one trip you will never forget for so many different reasons. may you and our troops be safe.
Be safe
How could you not be changed after an experience like this? That is wonderful you get to share your beautiful gift. It is sad many Canadian soldiers have lost their lives over there, one life lost was too many in my opinion. I would have such fear travelling to Afghanistan, you are brave and take great care,o.k.?

What an honor!! I am SO PROUD of you!!
I hope this trip moves and inspires you as much as you've moved and inspired me.
Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with these brave men and women, and thank you for bringing a little piece of home and some joy to their lives.
Don't forget...you can get a Tim's if you want one - lol.
I'll be saying a prayer every day for your safety and safe return home.
